HOME INVASION This Christmas story deals with a normal family trying to spend some nice days doing the usual activities at that time, that is to celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day getting together and eating much nougat. As I am writing, these special days were taking place in a “calm” atmosphere in Garcia’s family: the grandfather spent the whole day playing cards and grumbling, the parents arguing noisily every couple of minutes, the children messed everything up and the dog laid in the carpet. Maybe you are thinking where the exciting event is… don’t be impatient… Christmas Eve day came as every year with nervousness for all the residents of that house; the children were nervous because of the Christmas presents and the mother felt the same but in another way: she was worried about how to cook the dinner. That evening all the family ate, drank and sang as if the next day wouldn’t exist. They enjoyed a lot, but at the end of the night, just before going to bed, they heard something strange under the doormat. One of the boys went towards the door when suddenly a few elves ran out and aimed at the boy with a gun. - We are soldiers of Santa Claus government and we were sacked wrongfully, rebellion! Each member of the family had their mouth open. In fact everybody was frightened except the other little boy who was enjoying as if he was in the circus. He was not conscious of that situation. Before everybody could react against these small creatures, they were in every corner of the living room. - If everybody doesn’t stop and keep calm, we will fire!, said one of the elves. The mother gave a cry and then protected their children, who were playing trying to capture the elves. - Shut up everybody! I am going to talk about the reason why we are here now! Shouted an elf. When we lost our jobs, we decided to work on our own. We have noticed that your behaviour is becoming( in) a trouble. You must do an effort in order to have a good relationship. Despite the hard work, you should try it. It will be worth it!. Each member of the family thought of those words and it was the beginning of a new life-style for Garcia’s family.
