OCTAVIO
MICROWAVE YOGHURT  SPONGE CAKE

This recipe is similar to the traditional one, but without the need to use an oven. It's a simple and fast way to make a cake in the microwave.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 yoghurt (might be lemon yoghurt)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 glasses of flour
  • 2 glasses of suger
  • 1 glass of mild olive oil or sunflower oil
  • 1 sachet of yeast
  • some grated lemon skin
  • 1 teaspoon of cinamon powder
PREPARATION
Pour all the ingredients in a wide container or saucepan.
Mix everything well, so that there are no lumps(you can use a mixer)
Smear the mould with a pinch of butter.Pour all the dough in it and put it in the microwave,
we select medium/high power, and cook it for 12 minutes.
We check that it's ready by pricking it in the middle with a knife. If the knife blade comes out easily and  is clean when you take it out, then it's done
Let it cool down and unmould it. Serve in a plate.
It's very rich and it's my favourite!!!

YOLANDA
FRIXUELOS

This is a typical Asturian dessert, although there are similar recipes in other countries where they are called crêpes or pancakes. However, frixuelos are thinner than crêpes and, in my opinion more delicious.

INGREDIENTS
With this amount you can make about 24 frixuelos if you make them very thin, as I prefer .
  • 400 gr of flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 500 ml of water
  • Some oil
  • A pinch of salt
METHOD
Mix thoroughly all the ingredients with a mixer and then pour little spoonfuls into a pan  previously greased with oil. You should do it covering the hole of the pan with the dough.
I put some sugar between each frixuelo, although some people prefer to fill them out with chocolate syrup or honey.

It takes about 10 minutues to prepare the dough and five minutes to make each frixuelo.
Enjoy your meal!!!

GARLIC RIBS

Hi, I am sending you my recipe for today. It is simple and quick to make: Garlic ribs.

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds pork rib.
1 glass of high quality olive oil.
1/2 lemon and the zest of 1 lemon.
5 garlic cloves cut into sheets.
Salt, a bay leaf, a little fresh parsley and black pepper or oregano to taste.
PREPARATION
1. All the ingredients are poured into a kitchen pot and the pork ribs cut into small pieces. Everything is left to marinate for 12 hours.
2. Put a little olive oil to heat in a pot. Add the pork ribs and all the marinade and cook over medium heat 20 minutes.
3. When the pork ribs are cooked, remove the excess oil and add a glass of white wine.
4.  Let it reduce to medium-high heat. The ribs are removed and plated, ready to serve.
They are delicious with some red wine from Toro.
I hope you make this recipe and you like it.
Greetings to all

ALFILADA

My recipe is a traditional Easter sweet in Luarca: alfilada. An "Alfilada" is the gift that godparents traditionally give to godchildren when they hand over the palm on Palm Sunday.

INGREDIENTS
200 g of sugar
100  ml milk
1 teaspoon salt
150 g of butter, if it is homemade butter better than better.
3 eggs
2 sachets of baker's yeast or 40 g of fresh yeast
600 g of flour
 1 egg to paint
METHOD
1. Put the milk, sugar, salt and butter in a saucepan, heat slowly and stir so that the butter melts well and all the ingredients mix well.
2. Pour the flour into a bowl, form a hole and add the mixture and yeast and stir well.
3. Beat the eggs and add them to the dough.
4. Knead a little in the bowl and then put on the table and continue kneading until it sticks to your hand, the more the merrier.
5. Let the dough rest covered with a kitchen cloth for at least five hours.
6.  Work the dough a little, form a row, divide into three parts and make the ponytail.
7.  Place on an oven plate and leave it about 15 minutes before putting it in the oven, after a while we paint it with beaten egg yolk.
8. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

This is my recipe, I hope that all of you put it into practice and that you are successful.
Just has a problem. It makes you fat!!!
