    Cold, snow and sun

On Tuesday night, I looked out the window before I went to bed and it was beginning to snow, little by little, and I thought it wouldn´t be important, but on Wednesday morning when I got up because I had to go to Oviedo to visit my grandfather in hospital, I was surprised to see all the snow.
Oh God! How much snow! I thought there wouldn´t be so much snow. The road was covered, roofs, everything...all the corners were covered with snow and I couldn´t go with the car, and it was very cold, two degrees below zero, so here I had to wait until the evening, when it began to be sunny and the snow began to melt, but not all the snow melted and Wednesday night, the temperature dropped ever more, so here it was a freezing night and the roads were slippery and very dangerous for cars.

Tuesday, the day was very dull .My family and I were amazed because it was a terrible day, the weather was very cold, windy and pouring, so when we went out, we were surprised.
On the other hand, the typical weather on the previous days had been humid, with scattered showers and also with not clean skies and dull enough. When the weather is like this I am rather sad, and more unhappy because I can’t go out like other times to walk in my town. Those would be the main consequences.
Although if I had to study, thank God, I wouldn´t have any problem, because I could do it at home.
The truth when the weather is as I said befote, people don´t go out of their homes, a lot.
I hope the weather gets better.

It had been raining quite a lot since last Tuesday but today it is incredible, it is pouring with rain! The river has swollen with the rain of the last days and if it continued raining, it would overflow. When I arrived home the downpour was so heavy that the river would break its banks. That night I talked to a friend and he told me that it was said that it would be pouring for the next four days! I began to worry, but I was very tired so I went to bed. When I woke up the next day and I tried to leave my village I couldn´t. There were a lot of trees in the middle of the road that had been ripped out by the hard rain and the strong wind. Furthermore, the river had overflown and it also flowed across the road not letting me go to the high school. I came back home and then I could stare at each destruction that the downpour had caused around my house. My garden was completely flooded, the hard rain had also destroyed my flowers and I had lef my washing hanged out so it was soaking.

  5. The weather has been very bad for a week: it has been freezing and snowy all over the country. There have even been severe blizzards. The snow has covered the fields and the towns and it has reached a height of half a metre and made large snowdrifts. Roads and railways have been blocked and a lot of cars and trucks have been stuck in the snow. Airports have been closed and flights have been cancelled. Lots of villages and cities have been cut off. The supply of electricity and water has been cut off too. Electric and Diesel heatings have not been working and people have had to heat their homes with firewood heatings. People couldn´t go to work and children couldn´t go to school. These ones have enjoyed a lot playing in the snow. The whole country has been stopped.
Now, temperatures are rising, the weather is getting mild and the snow is starting to melt. The country is beginning to run again and people are pleased with it. Snow is beautiful and beneficial but very annoying.

  6. I think the weather affects my mood because in rainy days I get up sad and I don't feel strong to do something but in sunny days I get up optimistic and hardworking. The last weekend, I went to Segovia because of Red Cross participated in a military exercise. We worked with other people in middle of the mountains surrounded of snow. The weather was cold and sometimes snowing and hailing what made our work was dificult and hard, but we got up optimistic because it was a good experience where was working and learning how working in groups and the weather didn't mind.

Yesterday when I woke up I could see that the weather was cold. The temperature was three degrees below zero. I had breakfast with my family and we could see that the sky was overcast by black clouds. Suddenly, we heard a loud noise, it was a clap of thunder and inmediately it started to snow. I couldn´t believe it. I was very happy, because I like snow. That afternoon I went with my family to a place near my house. My father drove very careful because the road was very slippery. We made a snowman. We used a carrot for his nose and two bultons for his eyes. Also we put an old hat on his head.
We decided to go home because strong winds were rising. It was a blizzard!
It was a good day for me and I hope to repeat next year

Yesterday it was an unpredictable day. I got up at eight o’clock to go to university. There was a pleasantly high temperature and the sunlight came softly through my window. It seemed a beautiful day so I decided to walk to the university.
I was going along the way when it began to rain. Oh no! I thought! Luckily I’m a cautious person and I had taken my umbrella before leaving home.
I opened it and I continued to walk but suddenly it started to rain heavily, it was pouring!! A few minutes later a bluster of wind blew my umbrella away. Then the sun shone again when I arrived at the university completely soaked and I could see the rainbow. I could not believe it, the weather was crazy!!
When I came back home I was freezing because It was very cold. The roads were slippery with ice and the drivers drove slowly. Before going to bed I saw how the first flakes of snow were falling on my garden. It was wonderful! However I was shivering and I had caught a cold!

  9. POSTED: STORMY WEATHER
The night before, while I was visiting my parents, there was a terrible storm. When I was driving to go home, it was pouring with very strong winds and thunder. I had to be careful because the pavement was very slippery and I was amazed at the situation.
I saw that the gale was ripping trees and the water level of the river which is near the road was rising. The temperature cooled down and then, it began to hail. I was afraid and I decided to stop in a car park because driving was dangerous.
After a while, my mobile phone rang and my parents asked me if I was fine. My parents told me that the TV news was saying that many roads and houses were being flooded and it was advised not to cycle anywhere and to stay indoors.
However, I thought that if the weather forecast had warned us, I would not have gone to visit my parents yesterday. I was listening to the radio while I was waiting for the end of the storm. Finally, when the stormy weather ended, I went home. I would have had an accident if I hadn´t stopped in the car park.

It’s very usual that a storm hits the city, but the big hurricane managed to cause a power outage that affected all the city. Most of the businesses and shops were close and it was dangerous to leave home by car.
It seemed that all was quiet when twenty minutes after that, the sky turned very dark and the clouds started to throw a hailstorm.
I was at home looking through the window and could see people running very fast, somebody with a broken umbrella and completely soaked, others shouting, ambulance sounding…It was crazy!
The next day dawned with bright sunshine, but the weather had wreaked havoc around the city: trees uprooted, containers in the middle of the roads, some airports close and a lot of people still frightened.

  11. Saturday 5th June
Today it´s my birthday. I woke up early, at 8:00 o´clock.
I went to the window and I saw a bright shining. I knew that it was a good sign. I had been waiting for this weather on 5th June because I wanted to celebrate my birthday on the beach.
But I live in Asturias. In summer, the only rain all summer could fall on my best picnic on the beach.
At ten o´clock I called my friends and we went to Otur beach. The weather was warm, the sky was clear.
We were sunbathing to have lunch. The weather was hot and damp.
After We had lunch, the weather was changing. A sweet breeze started to blow. I was scorching.
In the afternoon North-east wind started to blow. It was cool. Pullowers were being worn when we felt the wind. But it could be worse, when I saw some black clouds. I told my friends that if We didn´t go home , we would get soaked.
We went home and then when we were drinking a hot chocolate, a big thunderstorm arose in Luarca.
I can say that thatday was a great day, a lucky day.
